The Youth Theatre Companies are for 14-19 year-olds with some previous experience. There are three companies each specialising in drama, dance or design and technical theatre.

Young people should have the opportunity to develop creative confidence, artistic skill and technique. We help you see yourselves as artists in an ensemble striving for excellence while being open and sensitive in the group. This environment allows you to be creative risk takers and push yourself in a professional way creating the best art possible.

From September 2011 the Companies will be starting a three year project Create For Change. This will be a creative exploration of global issues – encouraging self-awareness and of the wider world as a first step to understanding your role as a citizen of the world. Following research into local, national and world concerns, you will be able to make workshops and performances for theatres, schools festivals in the UK and overseas.

In the summer of 2012 Company members will be involved in the second Mesh Oxford International Youth Arts Festival, in which invited groups from around the world are brought to Oxford to share their work with the public, get involved in workshops and debates and create a major theatre show together.
