12 year old Alex Beatty was the winner of our Rack Your Brain? cycle parking competition!
Alex's winning idea was picked from over 120 entries from school groups and individuals across the county. Alex came to the theatre to meet our artist Matthew Lane Sanderson who worked with her to create the finished piece. While she was here, Alex and her mum Sue were met by camera crews and photographers from the local media eager to meet the successful youngster who's drawing so impressed the judging panel. Alex was completely unfased by all the attention - she had already been on BBC Radio Oxford in the morning and by the time she arrived at the theatre was well into her stride.
The final sculpture was unveiled at our Artworks Launch on 14 June 2010 and Alex's picture made the front page of the Oxford Times. The cycle parking has received fantastic praise and we welcme you to use it next time you're at Pegasus!
