Frequently asked fundraising questions

I am taking part in the London Marathon next year. Will it be too late to raise money for Pegasus’ Create for Change campaign?

Absolutely not! Let us know your name, contact details and how much you hope to raise, and we’ll send you a Create for Change pack to kick start your fundraising.

I would like to run the London Marathon for Pegasus. Do you have any running places?

Unfortunately not. However, if you were lucky enough to gain a place in the ballot we’d love you to choose to run for Pegasus. Drop us an email today, to let us know.

If you don’t have a place it may be worth contacting your local running clubs to see if they have any available.

Do you organise any running events?

We don’t but that shouldn’t stop you signing up for an event on our behalf or even organising one yourself. We’ll still support you with your fundraising and encourage you with your training.

Can I organise a street collection?

Yes. But there are a few points you need to consider first. To collect funds in any public place you need a license from your local authority. If you’re collecting on private property (e.g. a pub or supermarket) you should obtain written permission from the owner. If you have any questions, contact your local authority for advice.

Where should I send my sponsorship money?

If you’ve set up an e-fundraising page with Justgiving the money will be sent straight to us. It’s that simple.

If you’ve collected funds with your sponsorship form, simply fill out one of our paying-in forms and return it to: Pegasus Theatre, Magdalen Road, Oxford OX4 1RE with a cheque for the complete amount. Do not send cash through the post. Alternatively you can call us on 01865 792209 to pay by debit card.

I’m holding a quiz night. Can you send me any posters to advertise my event?

Yes. What ever the event you’re organising, let us know and we’ll send you your Create for Change fundraising pack. The pack includes posters, a badge, fundraising guide, sponsor and paying-in form, A-Z of fundraising ideas and your all important Create for Change t-shirt, for you to wear with pride before, during and after your event.

What is Gift Aid?

Gift Aid can make your donation go further. Under the Gift Aid scheme we are able to claim back the tax that you have paid on your donation, which currently increases its value by 28% - at no extra cost to yourself.

If you pay a lower rate (10% or 20%), Pegasus can still claim back 28%* or each £1 you donate, provided you pay enough tax to cover the claim in the tax year you make the gift(s). And again if you pay tax at the higher rate, you can claim further tax relief on your self assessment tax return. So, it’s easy. Just complete and return the Gift Aid declaration form enclosed, today. Alternatively, if you prefer not to use Gift Aid, or are not a UK tax payer and so cannot use the scheme, please do let us know so that we can amend our records.

*25% plus 3% transitional tax relief until 2011

Does the gift aid count towards my fundraising total?

Yes and no. We claim the Gift Aid sometime after your event has taken place. For this reason, we ask that you only include exact funds raised in your fundraising total.
